This FAQ is designed to answer the most common questions before purchase or delivery so installation and setup go smoothly and customers can plan ahead with confidence.
GENERAL OVERVIEW
WHAT IS THE TWISTERPOD?
The TwisterPod is a compact, enclosed rotating or specialty-use pod designed for installation on a solid concrete surface. It is typically used in residential garages or prepared concrete pads.
WHERE CAN IT BE INSTALLED?
- Inside a garage
- On a reinforced concrete slab outdoors
- On commercial concrete pads (if properly rated)
It must be installed on a solid, level concrete foundation.
CONCRETE REQUIREMENTS
WHAT KIND OF CONCRETE IS REQUIRED?
-
Minimum 2500 PSI concrete (3000 PSI is standard and preferred)
-
Must be structurally sound with no major cracks or crumbling
-
Must be level and stable
HOW THICK DOES THE SLAB NEED TO BE?
-
Standard requirement: 4 inches minimum thickness
- Older or thinner slabs should be inspected before installation
DOES THE SLAB NEED TO BE TESTED FOR PSI?
- Not always required
- Most residential garage slabs already meet 3000 PSI standards
-
If unsure, a local concrete contractor can perform a core test or inspection
MY CUSTOMER HAS A 24’ x 24’ SLAB, IS THAT ENOUGH?
Yes. A 24’ x 24’ slab is more than sufficient in size. The key is condition, not footprint.
INSTALLATION & PLACEMENT
HOW IS THE TWISTERPOD MOVE INTO PLACE?
Depending on site access:
- Forklift (most common for delivery unloading)
- Skid steer or mini skid steer
- Heavy-duty pallet jack (if surface allows)
- Pipe rollers or furniture dollies for garage positioning
- Manual positioning with multiple people once near final location
CAN IT BE INSTALLED INSIDE A GARAGE?
Yes. This is a very common installation location. The garage must have:
- Adequate door height clearance
- Enough interior maneuvering space
- A proper concrete slab
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
DOES THE TWISTERPOD NEED ELECTRICITY?
Yes.
IS THERE AN OUTLET INSIDE ALREADY?
No. It does not function like a plug-and-play appliance.
HOW IS IT POWERED?
-
A licensed electrician must run power to the unit
- Typically 110V or 220V depending on configuration
- Power is hardwired or connected through a dedicated electrical feed
CAN I PLUG IT INTO A REGULAR WALL OUTLET?
No. It requires a dedicated electrical setup installed by an electrician.
DELIVERY & LOGISTICS
HOW IS IT DELIVERED?
- Usually delivered via freight truck
- May arrive on a pallet or crate
- Requires equipment (forklift/skid steer) for unloading in most cases
WILL THE DELIVERY DRIVE MOVE IT INTO PLACE?
No. Freight delivery is curbside or driveway drop-off only. You can call or email us and we can check if we have an installation technician in your area. Installation is an additional fee.
FOUNDATION & SAFETY
DOES IT NEED ANCHORING?
Yes. It is typically anchored into the concrete slab using approved fasteners.
HOW FAR FROM THE EDGE OF CONCRETE SHOULD ANCHORS BE?
Anchors should be placed at least 4 inches from slab edges to maintain structural integrity.
PRE-INSTALL CHECKLIST
Before installation, ensure:
- Concrete is at least 4” thick
- Surface is level and clean
- No major cracks or structural damage
- Electrical plan is ready (electrician scheduled)
- Access path for moving equipment is clear
COMMON CUSTOMER QUESTIONS
DO I NEED A CONTRACTOR?
Not always, but a licensed electrician is required for power hookup.
CAN I INSTALL IT MYSELF?
You can position it, but electrical hookup must be done professionally.
WHAT IF MY SLAB IS OLDER?
Have it inspected before installation to ensure structural integrity.
